SPECIALIZED
MATERIALS

OUR GUIDELINES FOR THEIR COLLECTION

Certain material types demand special care when being added to your bin,

to ensure it is packaged safely, or to preserve it's ability to be effectively reused or recycled.

Below are examples of these material types, and best practices for including them with your pickup.

BATTERIES

We partner with Call2Recycle and hold a 49 CFR 172.704 Certification for proper handling and shipping of batteries.

Batteries and their chemical compositions present a unique challenge

for us to safely collect, store, and effectively recycle.

While only lithium-ion* batteries are considered hazardous material,

all batteries must be carefully stored and transported for the safety of ALL.

*Lithium-ion batteries are the only hazardous material we accept

(no tanks, fire extinguishers, solvents, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, etc).
