WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
You'll be working alongside our shop team,
processing the materials that Rabbit Recycling receives from our pickups and dropoffs.

The tasks that we need help with around the
shop vary according to our priorities, but here are some examples of what we might ask of you:
DECONSTRUCTING ITEMS
Certain products / items that we accept need
to be broken down slightly before its
component parts are fit for recycling,
some common volunteer deconstruct items:
-Contact Lense packaging
-CD / Audio Cassette packaging
-Resealable Coffee Bean Bags

DONATABLE OR NOT?
One potential output source for materials we receive is donation, items that are still in good enough condition for reuse, these might be:
-Textiles (fabric, clothing, etc.)
-Bags
-Cookware
-Toys

SORTING BY MATERIAL TYPE
Certain types of material need to be sorted further into very specific categories, we might ask you help us separate types of:
-Lightbulbs
-Numbered Plastics
-Food Grade vs Non-Food Grade Styrofoam
-General Sorting

READ OUR GUIDELINES BELOW AND SIGN UP FOR A SESSION
VOLUNTEER Guidelines:

- You must complete and sign (electronically) our volunteer waiver and training guidelines form prior to your first volunteering session*.
​
- Please try to arrive a few minutes early, and per our email instructions, call us 15 minutes before your expected arrival time regardless.
​
- Be prepared to work 😊! We'll train you in
your assigned task, and a volunteer coordinator will be available for questions.
​
- Please arrive in comfortable, maneuverable
clothing (dress warm in the winter!) and closed-toed shoes.
​
- Please bring your own water bottle, we have
a cooler on site to refill it.
​
​- Please DO NOT bring material to drop off with
us when arriving for your Volunteer Session.
Shop Dropoffs must be schedule separately.​​

*Parent/Guardian must complete and sign (electronically) the waiver/guidelines prior to
each session if the volunteer(s) is under 18.
